My Story
I don’t remember when I became interested in birth. I think it may be because of my own strange birth story (my twin is two months older than me). I grew up hearing our story, so I’ve always been intrigued by birth stories.

When I was 9 or 10, my parents best friends had their baby in our house. That was my first exposure to birth as a normal, natural process. Looking back, I think that was the first time I realized birth didn’t have to be a scary emergency.

As I’ve gotten a little older, I’ve realized how much the world uses fear to control women. And I wanted to do something to help give women hope and to show them that they don’t have to be controlled by fear.
When I learned about the profession of “doula,” it just clicked. I could build a relationship with women and be in the pregnancy & birth world at the same time? Yes please!

In early 2021, I lost my first baby to miscarriage. I felt alone and scared at that time. I never want anyone else to be alone during pregnancy loss, so I added bereavement to my doula services. My hope is to be able to provide the support that I did not have.

So here I am, Sarah Lingle — Birth and Bereavement Doula.

I’d love to answer any questions you have about what a doula is or how I can serve you through your pregnancy, birth, or loss!
